The meeting is holding behind closed doors inside the president’s office.
Mr Soyinka arrived about 11:00am local time and went straight to the president’s office.
Speaking with the journalists after the meeting professor said he had come to see the president on some national, international and general matters, promising to organize a press conference later.
He said: “I will be holding a press conference in about a week. You can ask me any question then, but now, please I will just like to get away.”
The literary icon had last month voiced his support for President Buhari’s fight against corruption, with a call for the imprisonment of corrupt politicians to serve as deterrent to others.
